Danielle van der Lee began her career as a wedding planner. In 2006, she took over an existing training program — the foundation of what is known today as Weddingplanners International. Twenty years later, she has built the institute into an award-winning, recognized name in the industry: winner of the Global Wedding Awards 2026 in the category Best Wedding Planning & Stylists Education, and holder of the NRTO quality mark for private educational institutions since 2022 — recently renewed.
But Danielle's story doesn't end at the institute. Two decades of entrepreneurship, growth, and leadership have taught her something that extends beyond the wedding industry alone: how to turn an idea into a business, and how to grow that business without losing yourself. She is now applying that experience more broadly—as a coach for female entrepreneurs and as a speaker. Moreover, she is currently working on a book about falling down and getting back up.
EXPERIENCE
Danielle's experience was built in practice, not in theory. She stood among couples, suppliers, and deadlines herself before taking the step in 2006 to acquire an existing training institute.
Since then, she has led that institute, now known as Weddingplanners International, for twenty years and grown it into an award-winning organization: winner of the Global Wedding Awards 2026 (Best Wedding Planning & Stylists Education) and holder of the NRTO quality mark since 2022, recently renewed. Those twenty years provided her not only with knowledge of the wedding industry but, above all, with a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship: business management, team leadership, brand building, and keeping an organization afloat in a constantly changing sector.
HER POWER
Danielle's strength is that she knows what it is like to build a business from scratch — and what it is like to keep that business relevant twenty years later. She combines entrepreneurial insight with a genuine drive to help others, particularly women, move forward.
While many coaches work from theory, Danielle works from lived practice. She recognizes the doubts, growing pains, and choices entrepreneurs face because she has gone through them herself. This combination of experience, decisiveness, and genuine commitment makes her approach personal and directly applicable.
